How to calculate crypto profit

For a long position, profit equals (current price - buy price) x quantity. For a short position, profit equals (buy price - current price) x quantity. This calculator uses the live market price by default, but you can enter a custom price to model different scenarios.

Unrealized vs realized P&L

Unrealized P&L is the profit or loss on an open position. It becomes realized when you close the trade. This calculator shows your unrealized P&L based on the current market price. Remember that unrealized gains can disappear if the price reverses.

ROI (Return on Investment)

ROI tells you the percentage return relative to your initial investment. A $1,000 profit on a $10,000 investment is a 10% ROI. Comparing ROI across trades helps you evaluate which setups perform best, regardless of position size.
