What is a satoshi?

A satoshi (sat) is the smallest unit of Bitcoin. One Bitcoin equals 100,000,000 satoshis. The unit is named after Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Why think in sats?

As Bitcoin's price rises, buying a full BTC becomes impractical for most people. Thinking in sats makes smaller amounts feel tangible. Owning 500,000 sats is more intuitive than saying you own 0.005 BTC.

Stacking sats

"Stacking sats" means accumulating small amounts of Bitcoin over time, usually through regular purchases (dollar cost averaging). Even small amounts add up. 10,000 sats per day is 3,650,000 sats per year.
